      I’m posting this here because it’s an early example of how Trump’s actions on trade are already directly increasing prices.

      Anyway as a comment included on the Hololive sub

      Trump’s policies have already raised prices by *at least* 17 dollars on Hololive merch. What will happen to other merchandise from Japan/China/other nations? Or how about all the other things people import?

      Saw this, but haven’t done the math for my own sake. Might as well now. Looked for a 2024 order that I can replicate today.

      October 2024 order:

      * Subtotal: $92.99
      * Postage: $20.70
      * Taxes: $11.37
      * Total: $125.06

      If I order something really similar today (Feb/6/2025):

      * Subtotal: $90
      * Shipping: $23.58
      * Duties: $16.49
      * Taxes: $11.37
      * Total: $141.44

      Those future nendos/figures/merch purchases are going to really hurt.

      Can someone explain to me what hololive is? I used to see it pop up on the frontpage of reddit all the time before I muted the sub. I tried to figure out once but all I came away with was that it isn’t for me, whatever it is.

      Also I feel extremely old right now
