    >The USAID website said that as of midnight on Friday, February 7, “all USAID direct hire personnel will be placed on administrative leave globally, with the exception of designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs.”

Soooo is a federal judge gonna do anything about this? Even if the agency hasn’t been officially shut down or merged as of yet, firing 97% of the workforce seems like it’s basically being shut down.

This will literally kill people reliant on antiretrovirals provided by these programs. It will create an enormous gap in foreign aid that will be happily filled by the chinese (in exchange for fisheries, forestries, mines, etc).

    Absolutely bananas.

So make the agency ineffective ?

What are these fuckers going to do with other agencies/organizations?

  5. its funny, for how much they complain about corruption for this agency, firing all the grant officers just gives grantees the freedom to do whatever they want with grant monies they’ve already been given if there is no oversight.

Isn’t this going to hurt US AG a lot? Quite a bit of the money we spend through it goes to US food. Between this and more tariffs that’s a da generous game

Also another 9k for next month’s unemployment numbers I guess.
