Not gonna lie, I assumed it was an automatic process as a former POTUS is basically just another private citizen, Secret Service bodyguards aside.

This is a great policy. It forecloses the possibility of a former President stealing classified documents and storing them in an unsecure location, for example their bathroom. It’s good that this sort of thing won’t be happening.

Kind of a roundabout way to lower prices, but ok
