  1. Gorsuch and Thomas are basically guaranteed to support the Administration’s argument, and the three Democratic-appointed justices to oppose.

    Beyond that, I don’t think a “party-line” vote is guaranteed. Obviously the current court has shown a preference for a powerful executive, but the conservative justices (besides Gorsuch and Thomas) previously avoided throwing out the *Humphrey’s Executor* precedent entirely when they had a golden chance to do so. In addition, removing the independence of the Office of the Special Counsel basically defeats its entire purpose for existing.
