Would Jesus park in a bike lane? For Philadelphia churches, it’s a real question

  1. This is a very odd intersection of things that I felt like a very odd intersection of people might find interesting. !ping USA-PA&RELIGION

And if anyone wants to ping some bike or urbanist group that might be relevant too

The bike lane parking permitting for the Church is a codification of a previously unwritten rule in Philly, “illegal parking is okay if it is for religious reasons”

I have a mosque 1.5 blocks away, every Friday and all during Ramada people on the sidewalk, block crosswalks, park in a bus turning area which causes the bus to get stuck, park in front of hydrants, and abandoned lots. A parking officer will just ignore all of it.

I’m center city it’s basically the same with predominantly mainline WASPy churches.

  3. This is the real political issue I want solved in the US.
Would Jesus be in favor of more bike lanes?
