  2. I have been advocating for European foreign and security policy since 2010s, and I continue to support that. But fact is that it doesn’t exist right now.

    There are dozens of areas where we functionally *can not* replace what the US brings to the table – from intelligence to logistics and sustainment. No amount of funding that is committed today can build up these institutions, capabilities and expertise overnight. Even with limitless funds, best intents and political will, this is a process that would take years.

  3. I would be surprised if a Labour PM can achieve that.

    Maybe they can bond on their shared love for taxes.
