In light of another post I saw earlier today, this new development within the wider GOP is just another domino in the quickening march towards demonizing the LGBT.
We can sacrifice a lot of things in the name of defending core American values against outright authoritarianism by the GOP. Sports. Passports. Bathrooms. But let's stop kidding anyone that you aren't leaving them behind if your only game plan is to say that you don't hate the LGBT and leave it at that.
Not picking a side is still making a choice. Are you willing to die on the hill that trans people have a right to exist in public?

And yet people on this sub will downvote you to oblivion if you suggest maybe it’s not a good idea to humor the GOP’s anti-trans bigotry.
Like okay, even if you are some deranged transphobe who believes trans people are just liars, which at this point I kinda assume for elected GOP members.
The idea of going “Lying on your resume should be a fucking *felony*” is just absolutely insane.
It’s just such a clear attempt to find a way to criminalize being trans without sounding insane, and even with that fig leaf it’s still transparently batshit.
Trans women in red states need to buy AR-10s with drum mags and suppressors immediately. Every trans woman should be strapped harder than Trinity in the Matrix when she goes through the metal detector.
Having a battle rifle on your person at all times is a significant deterrent to attacks by transphobes. I also think law enforcement will be deterred from conducting “illegal estrogen traphouse raids” in the future if such raids involve a high risk of getting turned into swiss cheese.
Malcomb X said its the ballot or bullet, and ballots seem to be a thing of the past at this point.
It’s funny that a girl who went to my soon-to-be alma mater came 5th in a swim meet but just so happened to tie with a transgirl and made it her life’s goal to throw them under the bus. She really dedicated her life to hate.
