  1. Now we get to watch all of the Trump cultists who have spent days attacking Ukraine do a 180.

You can expect Trump to try to hurt Ukraine again when they predictabley refuse to agree to complete surrender.

I’m sorry, is this a misleading headline? From the article:

    > Critically, Ukraine needs to persuade Washington to end the U.S. suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing after the blowout. U.S. officials have said that positive talks in Jeddah could mean that the pause is short.

The article also says this, so it’s a bit confusing:

    > JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia (AP) — The Trump administration lifted its suspension of military aid and intelligence sharing for Ukraine, and Kyiv signaled that it was open to a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Russia, pending Moscow’s agreement, American and Ukrainian officials said Tuesday following talks in Saudi Arabia.

  4. How convenient that this happens after the cutoff seems to have given the Russians a leg up in Kursk. I try not to be conspiratorial but this shit makes it difficult.

  5. Will Russia agree to a ceasefire? I think they want to but Ukraine still controls bits of Kursk which they can now take the time to reinforce. I imagine that would be a major sticking point for Moscow here.

  6. I am extremely suspicious of this. Admiral Akbar senses tingling.

I don’t expect a ceasefire to hold, should it happen. I suspect, should it happen, it will be broken—I presume by the Russians. Trump will blame Ukraine for breaking it regardless, and then the US will truly throw the Ukrainians to the wolves.

Finally, some good news. Unfortunately the bar is in hell and there’s a credibility gap on if the Trump administration will follow through.
