Although I hate anyone who didn’t vote for Trump being harmed as a result of this, this reminds me of a boomer at my gym who seemed to be a nice person, at first glance. Then he started talking about taking personal responsibility, opening up more about his beliefs. People in the gym found out he had a 19 year old son who was going to the same gym, who he had kicked out of his home as the son continued to go to the gym in dirty and broken clothing.

Anyway, to make a long story shot, he expressed how he was always a democratic voter until Trump came in, created an economic boom and made him a millionaire, and he said he would never vote for another Democrat again.

i hope only the worst for him and all individuals like him.

I know we’re all very motivated to play this up for our political advantage, but a 9% stock market drawdown is so completely normal. It happens literally once every 1-2 years. There was a 20% drawdown just two years ago! To call this a “lasting retirement hit” is completely ridiculous. This has wiped out 6 months’ worth of gains, and the market is up 7% over the past year and +43% in the past two years. Retirees are going to be fine.
