  1. This is frustrating. Not gonna lie. I’m starting to think the “Do Something” crowd might have a point even if they annoy me too.

Chuck Schumer is not the man for the hour. He has no spine. He needs to go. If you can’t even get your own party to vote against the bad policy of your majority party “opponent” and swing the framing that the party that is the majority IN EVERY BRANCH, then you’re useless.

Schumer better retire in 2028 otherwise he is going to be primaried. When I look up the definition of useless politician Schumer would be near the top of the list.

  4. These people really don’t believe in anything. They’ll never take a stand because they’re so scared of rocking the boat. He needs to be replaced with someone with actual conviction.

  5. WHAT? Then what was yesterdays announcement for? Why the backtrack?

We need to clean sweep the democratic leadership.

    Tea party time.

    Primary them all.

  6. Pathetic cuck.

My main goal is now to see this leadership replaced. They’re fucking worthless. We need someone with a spine and a brain. Maybe Chris Murphy? That dude’s been very clear-eyed about this situation.

Consider me done until 2028. Dems are trying to appeal to *someone* with these tactics and it certainly isn’t me. If the dnc tries to hit me up for more money I’m blocking the email address.

  8. We need leaders who are made for this moment in history, not the moment 10 years ago. Chuck Schumer is not the leader for this moment.

  9. Stop pretending this is normal. Shit it all down until Trump behaves like a normal president and day so. Fucking spineless POS.

  10. adjective-noun-one on

These spineless fucks have confused Liberalism with being “Civil”.

I swear to god Schumer would be fine with the complete dismantling of Democracy and the American Project so long as they were “polite” and “followed the rules”.

Is there an actual steelman for voting yes here in terms of stopping Trump from doing what he’s doing?

Like does a shutdown legitimately risk making it easier for Trump to continue doing what he’s doing, or is it really just all down to the optics and the political fallout of getting blamed for it?

  12. If this CR passes Schumer needs to be removed from leadership. Hell, he should be removed from leadership just for voting for cloture

  13. he better be taking one for the team on this

if he has to be the “centrist neolib scum” so that people don’t get their hands dirty voting to shut down the government and cause even more furloughs and crisis so be it but they better be getting something out of it to put the brakes on trump

  14. What’s the difference between Chuck Schumer and a spineless jellyfish?

The jellyfish is able to defend itself against predators.

    Worthless, spineless worms.

This will be remembered historically the same way the Enabling Act was.

Every single democrat, that I support from now on NEEDS to be unconditionally, diametrically OPPOSED to Donald Trump. Full stop.

No more fucking half measures I’m fucking DONE

  17. Primary these fuckers yesterday. Complete cowardice in the face of duty, throw them to the wolves.

    >Asked later if she thinks Schumer’s a weak Senate leader considering his reported support for cloture, Ocasio-Cortez responded to host Jake Tapper, “I think that that would be a mistake. We have time between now and tomorrow, and I hope that individuals that are considering that reconsider it.”

Level-headed response. I think that even considering voting in favor of the bill is suicidal, but I think waiting to see what the actual vote is would be the smart thing to do.

  19. I don’t know whether to be mad or to be sad. If there was a reasonable path to winning worthwhile concessions by shutting down, then the Democrats should have tried to do so. If there isn’t a path, then this is the right call. I was beginning to wonder what a successful shutdown scenario looks like. A few weeks, and then we get basically the same CR with a few poison pills stripped out? Probably not worth it. To me, it looks like the battle was lost in the House.

Hopefully this is the wake up call a lot of people in this sub need. If you’re not willing to spend the next year working to replace the dem leadership, there is no amount of focus groups or fundraising that can save us

If General McClellan does not want to use the army, I would like to borrow it for a time.
