The headline buries the lede that Trump’s “highest ever approval rating” is 47%, with 51% disapproving, lol. Those are still very poor numbers for a president who is six weeks into the job.

  2. A lot of people are balking at this need to be prepared for the very real possibility that the Reps will hold everything in 2026.

  3. Ah yes 2004. Global war on terror, Iraq invasion appeared to be going great and the deregulations that would lead to the Great Recession. National attacks on gay marriage. Weak dem leader. Tracks.

    Goddamnit

Is the reason Democratic approval rating is so low is because Democratic voters are mad at the Democrats for not opposing Trump more aggressively?

  5. I think what this is missing is Dems are as unhappy as Dems have been in a long time. Meanwhile GOP opinion shifts in a uniform trend.

Also the house in 24 was as tight as can be so any dip in popularity at all will likely lead to GOP losing it. Is that 100%? No, but I’m gonna continue to bet on thermostatic backlash as it is pretty much undefeated

Don’t really know why anyone is so surprised at this. Trump is feeding Americans worst impulses and they love him for it. Most want nothing more than to be the bully that forces everyone else to do as they say.

  7. If you look at polling averages rather than an individual poll, Trump’s approval rating has been tracking down steadily, and is lower than any other president at this point in the term except for himself in his first term.

I’m as disturbed as everyone else here that his approval is as high as it is, but it’s still historically low and currently dropping.
