Why Maids Keep Dying in Saudi Arabia
East African leaders and Saudi royals are among those profiting off a lucrative, deadly trade in domestic workers.
Thousands of East African women, lured by promises of high wages, are sent to Saudi Arabia each year to work as domestic workers. However, many face abuse, exploitation, and death, with autopsy reports often labeling these cases as “natural deaths.” Powerful individuals, including government officials and Saudi royals, profit from this system, hindering efforts to protect these vulnerable workers.
Because the saudis sexually abuse them and once they say they’ve had enough, the Saudis kill them.

Ok seriously though the practice of taking away people’s passports is horrific and abusive, this is literal slavery going on in the gulf. Worst thing is even countries like Singapore have similar things occurring

It’s important to remember that the SWANA never had a moral reckoning over slavery.
It was banned because the West was bitching them out over it, not because any of them saw it as immoral.
