This argument isn’t even persuasive to the racially motivated voters she’s trying to appeal to. “Immigrants are taking your jobs and your welfare checks” is more compelling, according to the polling we have on that.
It’s not that they’ll vote Republican, but they’re not going to support mass migration either. They’re not on the streets protesting deportation, it’s not going to motivate them to vote.
A YouGov poll found that the question “Are immigrants are a drain on national resources?” went from 35% unfavorability among black voters in 2020 to +2% favorability between June 2020-Nov 2023. This was the biggest jump among any racial group (for white voters, it was 12% unfavorability to +19% favorability). That question didn’t even differentiate between legal and illegal immigrants!

I will never get over the joke that the party that is fighting fiercely for the US to sellout it’s citizens to carry the world and take on unlimited debt is criticizing Trump’s economic policy.

Idk why Democrats are so hell bent to be on the wrong side of this issue. Just say illegal immigration is wrong and you won’t have to defend your stance by lumping all immigrants into low wage/ low income jobs and saying, “well somebody needs to do it, let it be them”.
Ivy League education who says “We done picking cotton”? Mid terms might be tough if this is the best democrats can do
She needs to go back to school and learn what the heck she is actually talking about
