Why are states allowed to override the constitution
Also what the fuck is ICE even
Where does their jurisdiction end
Feels like they can drop in and kidnap people off of vibes

We’re really getting the 100th percentile worst case scenario of this presidency

“Trump has opened up a trapdoor beneath the American legal system. This trapdoor is wide enough to swallow the entire Constitution. So long as he can find at least one foreign strongman to cooperate, Trump can, if he wishes, imprison any dissident, judge, journalist, member of Congress, or candidate for office.
If this sounds hyperbolic, bear in mind that Trump has expressed his desire to do these things. He has built an administration dedicated to turning his whims into commands, however fantastical or dangerous they may be, and he has systematically disabled every possible check on his power by training his party’s voters and elected officials to treat dissent as betrayal.”

This continues to just be a terrifying trainwreck.
The one lady being grabbed by people in plain clothes and thrown into an unmarked van without telling her who they were is fucking terrifying. Legit Nazi shit.
Even if she was a literal murderer that kind of shit is the kind of stuff the US has historically made fun of other countries for.
I find myself rooting for the implosion of the economy not because I don’t think I’ll be effected but because I don’t trust my countrymen to actually care about the rule of law or abuse of power. THe only way to prevent the full fall of this country into authoritarianism is an economic crash that hopefully slaps everyone out of ever voting for someone like Trump again.
Its demoralizing, terrifying and just fucking depressing.
