Sounds like they need some battery storage paired with solar.

We see this during late spring/summer daylight hours in California too. Often times excess power is sold to the NW and SW at negative prices. This year is shaping a little different as California has built more battery storage so they are able to utilize a bit more of the excess power. Instead of negative prices we are seeing $5-$10/MWh.
