i’m not sure how i feel about the prospect of government just literally hand picking which economic activity gets to happen, particularly when it’s so clearly done for the purpose of ensuring we never have to actually take a good look at the regulatory framework and whether it facilitates or hinders economic activity in the general case. It very much feels like there’s going to be more than a few cases of “oh your busines wants to do something? sorry bro you didn’t get the magical seal of approval so enjoy waiting room hell for 500 years.” but I suppose it’s necessary to achieve the good goal of having government involved in all aspects of the economy for better management, but at current state if the government doesn’t have the administrative capacity to adjudicate small projects, the multitude of small projects that don’t quite fit the bill of “national interest” never happen, even if all of them put together would have a combined impact that could rival the few large impact projects

projects are also nowhere near the only way economic activity happens in this or any country… I’m surprised that not a single party has put any thought in how to make doing business in general easier, as it’s quite hard currently, I think we’re all the way up to like 23rd according to the World Bank Index
