Because hell revoke their license if they speak up .
The fcc itself should have been disbanded long ago to stop abuses like this. Isn’t it technically in violation of the constitution when you have stuff like equal air time rules?
Saying that different channels can’t report on a preferred president sounds like a 1A violation and the freedom of the press .
Besides why the hell is FOX allowed to, but CBS or MSNBC can’t?

The Trump administration is implementing a system of soft, de facto censorship by using regulatory threats, baseless lawsuits, and financial pressure to coerce media companies into silence or compliance. It’s not about explicit government orders to shut down the press. It’s about making it too costly for them to report the truth. By threatening the parent companies of news outlets, Trump is turning their corporate interests into tools of control.
This isn’t the crude censorship of authoritarian regimes. It’s a more sophisticated approach, one that relies on backroom deals and the chilling power of financial leverage. In practice, it has the same effect: critical coverage vanishes or softens, and the public is left with carefully curated half-truths. Our information landscape is already just a playground for the powerful, where dissenting voices are systematically isolated and honest journalism is too expensive to pursue.
And as the rest of us watch the slow-motion collapse of a free press like it’s a pay-per-view car crash, we’re left with one question: do we want to live in a world where the biggest story is always the one that never makes it to print? Or maybe that’s too dark. So let’s just all pretend we’re out for Sunday brunch, nod politely, and try not to choke on our avocado toast.

“Believe me when I say that I’m fighting for you. I may not be speaking out or taking action. But I am fighting for you. The problem is if I fight too hard they will push me out of my position. And I won’t be able to fight for you anymore. So I’m fighting by not fighting. Get it?”
History is hallmarked by the media, corporations and opposition politicians protecting their own interest, own status in the government and their own wealth instead of defending their country, democracy and Constitution.
That’s where we are now.
