This time I’m looking at his histories of the 1806 campaign that saw the humiliation of Prussia (and his own captivity) and of the 1812 invasion of Russia. These works shows the breadth of Clausewitz’s thinking and contradict the “prophet of decisive battle” label that early 20th century historiography attached to him.
Clausewitz, so often reduced to his interpreters and epigones, here very clearly gives due weight to attrition and Fabian tactics.
