They were underfunded _and_ inefficient, and now they want a efficient _and_ well-funded force.
it’s kind of making an article
“With zoning reform, California construction expected to still find operational savings despite investment increases”.
Well, yeah. They want those increased savings from not dealing with the red tape to make the newfound investment in high rises be even more profitable.

There is a lot of this and that depends on the particulars. DND has already had its operational and maintenance budgets slashed drastically over the past few years, which will greatly affect DND readiness. So if this cut comes out of that line, that’s not good to say the least.
DND isn’t flush with cash and a lot of problems need cash to be fixed. So there isn’t any real saving to be had that doesn’t come at the expense of readiness.
My best hope is this will be swept under the rug and ignored. Which is possible in the current political climate, the Conservatives aren’t going to complain about not finding budget cuts in DND.

I mean, this makes perfect sense.
They were underfunded _and_ inefficient, and now they want a efficient _and_ well-funded force.
