So I rewatched The Long Kiss Goodnight, which came out in 1996, and there's a scene that always sparks debate, a plane is deliberately crashed into a building as part of a domestic terror plot. It’s eerie how close the imagery is to 9/11… but here’s the kicker: in the scene, the fake attack is designed to kill 4,000 people. That’s shockingly close to the actual death toll of 9/11 (just under 3,000).

Naturally, this has led some to call it predictive programming. But if you dig into the story, the context is way different. It’s not a Middle Eastern terror cell, it's a false flag op cooked up by rogue elements within the U.S. government to secure funding for black ops. It’s more deep state thriller than real-world prophecy.
The twin-tower bombings (9/11)
Yes, the parallels are disturbing, plane, building, mass casualties. But Hollywood has a long history of imagining worst-case scenarios. Was it coincidence? An unsettling glimpse into a narrative that later played out for real? Or just the usual 90s obsession with covert ops and conspiracy?
Watch the scene for yourself and decide:

SS:
This 1996 film shows a terrorist plot involving a plane hitting a building. Looks a lot like 9/11… before it happened.
Predictive programming, same as xfiles reboot and covid
This movie is 100% the best movie of all time, btw
However, the plot is not to crash a plane into the towers.
The plot is to use a nuclear bomb (dirty bomb) to blow up a small town in upstate NY (killing about 4,000 people, yes).
The dialogue is the most interesting when the baddies are discussing why and how the ‘false flag’ operation has to be done so that they can secure more funding.
Geena Davis herself (as Samantha Caine) calls it a “goddamned fundraiser”.
I have watched this movie a million times, and not just for the shower scene (which is worth a few rewatches).
