It’s pretty common that I hear from my friends “well you have to regulate ISPs because it’s not practical to have competition, no one can really lay new infrastructure” and then I see this yesterday:

So much to dig into there. I'm sure there are lots of arguments to be made ("but that's mostly rural, you can't do that in suburbia because XYZ"), but this is great. On a petty note, the fact that these guys give $5 per hour that their customers are out of service enrages me b/c my ISP had me without internet for 5 days when I work remotely, and "all they could offer" was about $4 back for that outage.
