According to the UN medium variant forecast, global population under 25 has already peaked (or about to peak). 75% of the population growth between now and 2100 (+2 billion) will be among those older than 65 (+1.5 billion)

the age composition of the additional population rarely, if ever ,gets talked about

when people think of population growth, they think of more kids and people of working age

**but in practice, the global population under 65 is poised to grow from 7.3 billion now to 7.8 billion by 2100, a growth rate of just 6.9% over 75 years**

and that’s assuming that UN population forecast doesn’t get revised down in the future due to faster than expected birth rate declines, which it already did

**UN shaved off its forecast for 2100 by nearly 1 billion people in the past decade, due to faster declining birth rates**
