India seems to have build up its smartphone manufacturing base very fast

I knew the transition was occurring yet I didn’t know it was happening this quickly. Now I know that this story from a month ago was actually a bigger deal than reported: *Foxconn, a major Apple supplier, has reportedly recalled hundreds of Chinese employees from its Indian iPhone manufacturing plants. This action, which began a couple of months ago, involves over 300 Chinese workers being sent back to China, leaving primarily Taiwanese support staff in India.*
For all the nonsense the Trump administration & Peter Navarro cause; this is ultimately very good. Apple played a large part in China’s rise, and now it’s time for India to become its counterweight over the next few decades. 59% decrease relative to the original share in 6 months. My Lord.
In 2025, Apple has hired new CFOs and COOs both of Indian descent, one being born in India.
