If the country was actually threatened, you’d probably see different opinions. And yeah, Russia, I agree, but most people see them struggling in Ukraine and just don’t believe that they’ll somehow win all of a sudden and turn to target the rest of Europe

God these surveys are so useless, all they proxy for is how much a population feels threatened at that time (moderated by country specific fixed effects).

There are about 33.5 million Germans of fighting age (man and women between 16 and 49).
16% of 33.5 million is 5.36 million.
22% of 33.5 million is 7.37 million.
Together that’s 12.73 million.
I feel like that’s plenty, or am I missing something?
