I wonder if there are some people here who can give some more insight into these cases from a Danish perspective. I’ve tried looking for Danish language sources but they seem to say pretty much the same thing as in this article. One source has the mother claiming that she requested a stay in a mother and baby home instead of having her baby taken away, and was denied. It’s hard for me to imagine a situation in which it’s justified to take away a baby from its mother an hour after birth unless the parents are so unfit that they’ve lost multiple children to child services.

These tests are obviously a massive slippery slope but the idea of applying them to some people and not others on the basis of race is 100% immoral.
If the test are so flawed they should be abandoned entirely, not playing race games of picking and choosing which races must meet competency requirements.

Parent competence tests should be banned for everyone, not only Greenlanders (Not that it ended helping this woman):
– Except fringe cases it’s impossible to know if someone will be a good or bad parent at first glance, it is a very complex job but most people are able to be up to the task once push comes to shove.
– With very few exceptions a shitty parent is better than the the foster care system for the development of a baby, this was shown numerous times in multiple studies.
This is a situation where nobody wins.
