Metrosight is economics research organization founded by Issi Romem, former Berkley lecturer and former chief economist as Zillow. Their study on how certain housing regulations impact found that good cause eviction laws, source of income laws, and resident screening laws increased rent in an area, while local government preemption laws had no impact on rent. This indicates that, as one would expect, there is a tradeoff between stronger tenant protections and higher rent.
