  1. I wonder what happens if Trump starts targeting U.S. companies that offshore work, rely on contractors from India, or depend on H-1B visas potentially even moving toward mass deportations.

    IT and business services make up an estimated 7–13% of India’s GDP, so restrictions of that scale could be a significant blow to both Indian and US tech companies. But for Trump, this kind of move could also end up being a pyrrhic victory.

    There’s no denying a rising undercurrent of anti-Indian sentiment in parts of the tech world, especially among non-Indian workers who feel displaced. Playing to that frustration might give Trump another wedge to peel them back into his camp.
