Tucker Carlson platforming Darryl Cooper was a sign of where things were going. Some of the influencers on the right with the largest platform are open Hitler apologists now.

I don’t get it. Even if you agree with everything the Nazis said and did, why would you want to be associated with a loser.
Hitler lost and he lost so bad that Germany has been under foreign occupation for going on 4 generations.
Same with the Confederates, you lost. Why are you idolizing losers?
Maybe because you’re a loser

There’s a particular type of person who is susceptible to these types of influencers. It’s the “the system is rigged and left is wrong about everything” types. Because if the left is always wrong, then they are wrong about this as well.
No one really envisioned a society where information, particularly bad information/lying/outright threats would be so readily spread and available and there’s really no recourse for it at the moment. The will just have to be a cultural reckoning in the near future but only one side will win.

This is gen z now. I side-eye every avowed Republican but especially the ones under 30.
It plays perfectly into an all-consuming conspiratorial world view where everyone (except my favorite nazi influencer, of course) has been lying to you your entire life. If “they” lied to you about COVID (nobody did) what else are they lying about? Maybe they perpetrated the biggest lie of all, smearing the good name of HITLER.
