Ran a passive scan while moving through two neighborhoods, past a Kroger, and into a Walmart lot. The system doesn’t transmit or spoof……only listens and logs what’s already in the air.
The numbers came back heavier than expected:
• ~1,500 Wi-Fi access points in under 20 minutes, many with hidden SSIDs.
• ~480 Bluetooth broadcasts, from cars, wearables, in-store scanners, and a few unidentified beacons.
• 12 devices matched to known surveillance hardware vendors (cameras, license plate readers).
• Several repeating trackers that appeared across multiple stops, not tied to any visible device.
Watching it in real time feels like peeling back a hidden layer of reality.
Most people think of Wi-Fi as their home router or Bluetooth as their earbuds. But when you start logging at scale, the sheer density of signals in everyday environments is overwhelming.
