I know close to nothing about canadian politics but Carney just seems like a badass like the type of guy that you’d want on your side in a bar fight.

CanPol (especially NDP supporters) are up in arms about “austerity” being mentioned at all, citing the 40% GDP debt ratio to say that running larger deficits than Trudeau-era would be more than fine (and that we are nowhere near the 100% ratios the US/UK are at, and simply don’t worry about it until we get there)
What do we think about this? Should Carney just keep previous spending at the same levels along with the new projects and NATO defense spending?
