A BBC investigation has identified ten members of a Christian extremist, anti-Muslim biker gang as running security for the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), including seven in senior positions overseeing distribution sites.
The GHF was established in February 2025 by the US and Israel as a mean to bypass the UN as the main provider of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, following Israeli accusations that the UN colluded with Hamas. The GHF was marred with controversies and accused by other humanitarian organizations of weaponizing humanitarian aid to further Israel’s war goals: since it began operating in April 2025, malnutrition spiked in the Palestinian territory to a state of famine declared in late August in the Gaza Governorate, and according to the UN, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed either at GHF distribution sites or while trying to reach them, some by gunfire and tank shelling – the Hamas-run Gazan Health Ministry, whose numbers are judge credible by the UN and are used in the IDF’s internal assessments, says the death toll stands at more than 2,000.

Self-styling as “modern Crusaders”, the Infidels are noted for their harsh attacks against Muslims and Islam in general and their celebration of violence – they posted a video celebrating the shooting of ‘criminals’ captioned “Remember, always shoot until they’re no longer a threat!”, and are selling on their online store a tee-shirt labelled “Surfing all day, rockets all night – Gaza Summer ‘25”, and showing a skeleton wearing tactical gear surfing on the Mediterranean while an atomic cloud engulfs Gaza behind.
The gang leader, Johnny “Taz” Mulford, is a former US sergeant who was disciplined for conspiracy to commit bribery, theft, and lying to military authorities. He poses with MAGA merch and displays several tattoos, including a Crusader cross engulfed in flames on his right arm, and “1095” in between two crosses on the torso, a reference to the year where Pope Urban II launched the First Crusade, which resulted five years later in the deadly Siege of Jerusalem, when Crusaders massacred thousands of Muslims and Jews after capturing the holy city.
Johnny “Taz” Mulford is now the “country team leader” running contracts for UG Solutions in Gaza and has recruited several other members of his gang in senior positions – the BBC has formally identified ten of them, although a former contractor estimated the number at “at least 40” out of 320 staff.
In a statement, UG Solutions, based in North Carolina, said Johnny Mulford is a “trusted and respected figure” with more than 30 years’ experience supporting the US and its allies globally. “We stand by his reputation, record, and his contributions to the success of complex missions,” the company said. The GHF declared that “The team providing aid at the Foundation’s sites is diverse – and it is successful for that reason.”

It’s a damn shame that the GHF has been run so incompetently, because it has sucked all the air out of any serious debate about the failures of UN aid distribution and the longstanding problems with aid diversion that have been swept under the rug for years. Cutting Hamas out of distribution may be a noble goal in theory, but they’re far too deeply enmeshed at this point.

The owner of UG Solutions, Jameson Govoni, is a shithead grifter. So it doesn’t surprise me to see UG staffed with other shitheads and worse.
Would be lovely if we could find an aid distribution organization in Gaza that wasn’t overrun with shitheads of one persuasion or another.
