I read a series of essays on a professor’s blog at some point a few months before covid which argued that all seven regional accreditors in charge of regulation have been captured by deans and chancellors over the 90s and 00s to allow every substantial part of the accreditation process to be self-reported. Can’t find it now, tragically.
