he wants to go to trial. he wants the attention. if he pleads it’s over now and he might save himself from the death penalty, which i doubt is going to happen either way, but not pleading means we get to go through this all over again and hear his arguments on why it happened.
How about they prove that he was on that roof and was the one who pulled the trigger?

Any competent lawyer would advise him to plead not guilty no matter what and see if the cops offer a plea deal. Which is doubtful in this case since the person he asked to retrieve the murder weapon is cooperating with the police.
So he has been before the court to hear the indictment and plead.
