This both seems like a very exciting prospect and very unlikely to actually work out. The combined high initial investment costs and risk of sabotage from international bad actors means governments are likely to balk at such projects, especially when it seems many are dedicated to putting their heads in the sand with regards to the value of such projects. Questions of feasibility are also worth asking. Sure no new technology needs to be developed but scaling up existing cables is still likely to be an arduous task. Nonetheless, here’s hoping we see success where we can.
