Does Trump have any values? I am not entirely against this but he made his whole thing about withdrawing from Afghanistan but refused to peel out during his first term. The thing that annoys me is that his supporters are going to act like it is a great thing to do despite them voting for him to be “anti-war”.

Honestly an incredible thing how Trump pushed the Afghan withdrawal date that he signed onto the next administration, and now after he sold the country out he’s planning to take credit for normalizing relations with the Taliban.

So lets say that the Taliban does (if ever) agree to this, its not going be all that easy
The Taliban might make us pay a fee or something to just have personal over there, so thats probably funds going to someone we don’t really trust and who has historically been an enemy.
There is also the big expenses associated with not just putting personnel on the ground but also making Bagram suitable for military use again, because who knows how neglected that place is after almost 5 years
This is a legit concern considering it’s the Trump administration after all, wont put them beyond that. If they are desperate enough to have this airfield back.
