I have conflicting views on the Kashmir thing. I know that the Indian Army acts unhinged and aggravates locals but I personally know a lot of Hindus that were pogromed by the “resistance/separatist” militias….The militias make Arafat’s PLO or Habash’s PFLP looked very inclusive in the sense that they included different faiths and genders into the coalition.
Nonetheless, I’d like to see more autonomy granted and less militarism. I wish India and Pakistan could bury the hatchet in my lifetime. Indians and Pakistanis get along quite well in the West in my experience. A South Asian Federation like EU would be wonderful to have.
The UN resolution also calls for a Pakistani withdrawal before the plebiscite is held. The chances of that are close to zero….
Erdogan’s the latest despot auditioning to be the leader of the Muslim world I see.
Tbh I’m ambivalent, he’s nowhere near the worst ones trying to do it. Modi’s better but he can’t be trusted to respect Muslims rights without international scrutiny.
