This is blatantly untrue, if nothing then by students revealed preferences. Even the shittiest IIT courses like Ceramic Engineering have more applications than CS at a really good department in Delhi University or any NIT.
It gets even more asinine if you get to good CS departments in universities that aren’t IITs or NITs and start comparing the score cutoffs for those universities with IITs.
It’s still an interesting but clickbaity article, although I’m not sure how much do these new universities actually care about students, because you cannot have a world class university without being pioneer in research, and almost everyone with any ambitions either joins institutions outside India or goes to DU/JNU/IITs/NITs.
Private universities pay terribly, the pay isn’t inflation adjusted like Central University pay is, and there is no concept of tenure or job security.
