  1. Yeah, it’s a $20 billion swap line. Not a loan. The thing is, this is not as big of a win for Milei because the US is also demanding Argentina to cancel its $18 billion swap line with China.

    Of course, that’d be good for US interests in the region, but Argentina has far more trade with China (as Argentina sells its soybeans and corn to China but competes with the US in those markets).

    It’s not a bailout when you open a swap line with a normal economy like Japan or something.

    On the other hand the Argentinian peso could be worthless in a few months so there’s a lot of risk we’re taking on here because millei sucked up to trump.
