Is he just demented? Does he not know the US has more auto factories than us? There’s also a reason why no one refers to “US auto industry” or the “Canadian/Mexican auto industry”, they’re all so tightly integrated that there really is only an NA auto industry. Parts cross borders multiple times during assembly.
I know less about the steel industry, but I’m pretty sure the US makes steel too…
