J-10s? Honestly, I don’t see the point. The JF-17 is more cost effective and a better all rounder. If you need a dedicated air superiority fighter as Bangladesh you’re already fucked

Various low-quality rumours about Bangladesh procuring J-10s have been circulating for at least a decade now. It’s true that bilaterial relations have strengthened considerably in the past year, but nothing is official yet.

It’s possible, don’t get me wrong, but still premature. Certainly there is [something going on behind the scenes](https://www.defensenews.com/global/asia-pacific/2025/10/07/bangladesh-air-force-gets-nod-to-spend-billions-on-multirole-fighters/), but what exactly that something is remains unclear at this time.

    > Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Bangladesh’s top air force officer, announced last month that his country’s interim government had given an in-principle approval for the purchase of “multirole combat and attack aircraft” plus new surface-to-air missiles and long-range radars.

    > Khan did not specify what type of aircraft the Bangladesh Air Force – the BAF – would procure, but there is a strong likelihood it will be the J-10CE fighter from China. Such an ambition had already been aired when Muhammad Yumus, Bangladesh’s interim Chief Adviser and head of the caretaker government, met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing in March.
