  1. Lovely. I’ll have them line up to get “Make America Great Again” tattooed on their foreheads so that they can never ever erase that they did this and destroyed this country for a couple cheap jokes about how women are asking them to do the fucking dishes

The cynical view is that these chucklefucks should have realized what they were signing up for. Obviously Trump wasn’t just making funny jokes when he said he wanted mass deportations and that he wanted to send the military after the “enemy within.” His last term ended with an attempt to overturn the election and a riot at the capitol, FFS. You were warned.

The charitable view is that most people don’t actually support this cruelty, and that they reject it when they actually see it first-hand. And now these guys with huge audiences of Trump-curious voters are calling out his worst abuses. As wicked as the government is, maybe the soul of the country isn’t totally lost just yet.

Both views resonate with me. The Yin and the Yang.

(Also, if you want to yell at me for the second one – trust me, I get it. I’m posting from Occupied Chicago. I hate this stupid bullshit.)

  3. >Von was not happy.

    >“My father immigrated here from Nicaragua. One of my prized possessions is his immigration papers from when he came here — I have them in a frame,” Von said last week. “This was just fucked up. It was fucked up.”

Mmmmyes, mystifying, how could we have seen this coming.

This is a good sign though. These influencers are not smart people in tune with policy or theory, they’re intuitive grifters who make their living on riding the anxieties of their chosen audience. If the assertion here holds it could be a significant indicator of the state of the Republican coalition’s cohesion.
