No more veggie burgers? EU parliament votes to ban meat names for plant-based foods

    This is moronic, veggie burgers have been a thing for decades!

    Should we call them sparkling patties instead?

  2. This is some real dumb shit (something like this got through in France a short while ago, I remember the fake pork meat brand *La Vie* talking about it)

    “Steak” is already a vague descriptor. There are beefsteaks, fish steaks, and pork steaks, but apparently “veggie steaks” are too confusing to consumers and therefore harm those poor farmers.

    Next these idiots are going to ban “peanut butter” as a name because consumers might confuse it with actual butter.
