The USS Liberty incident occurred on June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War, when Israeli air and naval forces attacked the U.S. Navy intelligence ship USS Liberty in international waters near the Sinai Peninsula, killing 34 American crew members and injuring 171. Israel claimed it mistook the ship for an Egyptian vessel and later apologized and paid compensation, but many survivors and U.S. officials have long believed the attack was deliberate, possibly to conceal Israeli military actions. The U.S. accepted Israel’s explanation publicly

    1. For the context:

The USS Liberty incident occurred on June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War, when Israeli forces attacked the U.S. Navy ship USS Liberty in international waters, killing 34 and injuring 171. Israel called it a case of mistaken identity and apologized, what I don’t understand is that even after 34 killed and 171 wounded , the isrealis got away with the assault, scott-free , and US publicly forgave them

The victims that killed were not even soldiers, they were data researchers. And still, USA put israel above its own citizens, its sad and pains me that victims never got justice
