Every time we make life easier, we give something back.

    Patience. Skill. Awareness.

What if the real trade-off of the modern world isn’t privacy or freedom, but the slow erosion of our own resilience?

I put together a short visual reflection called The Bill for a Convenient Life that explores this idea, how comfort can feel like freedom while quietly turning into confinement.

Do you think convenience is the most effective control system ever invented?

I have often reflected on this. The ability to tolerate discomfort used to be a virtue and now it’s as if anything hard should be avoided at all costs. Obviously there needs to be some balance…I mean I’m not really interested in churning my own butter but at the same time I know damn well I would appreciate it a lot more if I did.
