It depends on what they mean by “the West”. If “the West” is defined as what Stephen Kotkin defines it as, then yes, Palantir is 100% right. Here’s a quote from Kotkin:
โThe West is a series of institutions and values. The West is not a geographical place. Russia is European, but not Western. Japan is Western, but not European. โWesternโ means rule of law, democracy, private property, open markets, respect for the individual, diversity, pluralism of opinion, and all the other freedoms that we enjoy, which we sometimes take for granted. We sometimes forget where they came from. But thatโs what the West is.โ

Funny how they say the west must always win while turning the US into a literal banana republic
Peter Thiel is what happens when an insecure man child doesn’t go through the important developmental steps of overcoming and working through his insecurities. Instead he convinced himself he is a punished super genius that is smarter than everybody else, and his maladaptive deformed ego got supercharged with the infinite manic validation machine that is becoming super rich in young adulthood in a new futuristic industry most people don’t understand.
I think becoming a tech billionaire at a young age just deforms something in your development as a human being. You hit a point where people stop telling you that your ideas are bad, or that you are delusional. This combined with the “misunderstood genius” insecurity a lot of these silicon valley people have creates some of the most narcissistic out of touch monstrosities in the modern world
