This is an absolutely insane story and he has receipts right from these VPNs actually admitting they monitor users.

When called out in their no logs policy, one of them even defended it saying real time monitoring isn’t logging 😱

These VPNs have MILLIONS of customers, some whose lives literally depend on their opsec and privacy, and these companies have been lying to the public and jeopardizing people’s privacy and potentially risking people’s lives. This is absolutely unacceptable!

    2. That’s a well-know fake news site. Used to be NewsPunch and before that YourNewsWire.

    3. Internet providers also monitor activity. Internet hosts also monitor activity of site traffic and so on. And if you run one of these businesses yourself, you will demand to monitor activity so you will know to distribute your resources in real-time. So you don’t have lots of unhappy customers complaining, wanting their money back because they don’t get proper service. That’s not the privacy issue.

The privacy problem stems from lack of anonymity, for instance anonymous payment methods for services and products. You have a bank account, you ask the bank to provide you with top-up payment type card completely anonymous and they refuse to issue such things. There are some gift cards but they are not very useful as they’re bound on specific vendors. Lack of anonymity is why privacy becomes a concern and for legit reason as your id details will be leaked (its a matter of when) and you might end up in trouble. But of course governments don’t care and that’s why the problem happens.
