Mainstream liberalism was pretty “cool” when Obama was the leader of the Democratic party (don’t let cranks gaslight you on this, I was there). Because Obama was cool, not because of any specific policy.
You need a charismatic and likeable figurehead. It’s not complicated, but hard to do in practice. Those guys are hard to find.

I’ve long argued that Democrats need to be more villainous. Look around at the biggest streamers, YouTubers, and influencers. They’re all cruel, egotistical assholes. People respect strength and power. They want to be told who to hate. We need to be meaner to the people who truly deserve it and relish in the other side’s fear and outrage, so long as we’re working to improve lives in a way that’s plainly obvious to most people. People can forgive a lot if you demonstrate good governance that they can *feel*.

It all stems from the top.

As online political posters we need to defer to the lived experience of people of coolness and not aim to speak on their behalf IMO
