My mind is a bit fuzzy on the Civil War but if my memory serves well, there were not really any good sides. Pierre Gemayel drew inspiration from Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy to craft the Kataeb Party. The other side was obviously the incompetent and gangster-like PLO ran by Arafat and Assad Senior. It is ironic that less than a decade later, Arafat decided to buddy up with Saddam Hussein, who was an enemy of Assad, during his invasion of Kuwait….
Arafat made so many horrible decisions in hindsight….
