So today I found out that satellites orbiting above us are about as secure as computers from the early 90s, i.e. they’re not. At all.
Turns out a shocking number of them are just… broadcasting. Military chatter, bank data, phone calls, all flying through space completely unencrypted. And the wild part? Anyone with about $600 of gear can tune in.
No spy agency. No clearance. Just a cheap satellite dish, a bit of software, and the right coordinates.
In the 20th century this was state-level espionage. In 2025 it’s a YouTube tutorial away.
It makes you wonder, with all the noise about “data protection” and “privacy,” why is half the planet’s sensitive information still being beamed into the void like an open mic night for hackers?
Apparently it’s been going on for years, and no one bothered to fix it. Fancy a new hobby lol?
