    >To pass, recruits must do 15 push-ups and 32 sit-ups, and run 1.5 miles in 14 minutes.

I’m reasonably fit, but I can’t really do situps. Any advice? My current plan is to just never worry about it

Pretty embarrassing but this failure rate is typical of all agencies that require serious physical exams and says more about the typical American lifestyle than anything.

Police academy PT test with similar standards see [38-45% failure rates.](https://www.nsca.com/contentassets/a7bec7b62fe642b493b10b109ac43786/tsac-report-68.1-physical-training-considerations-for-police-academy-recruits.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOorQnH7QYOQ-DXuG04v3mci6__nSy3TZen6SKrCSV0r80XRbVBTA&utm_source=chatgpt.com ) ICE has historically attracted former law enforcement and military who probably already know what to expect but this unprecedented recruiting push is almost certainly bringing a lot of even less prepared civilians out of the woodwork.

You know who I bet has great cardio? Someone who walked 3000 miles through jungles and deserts to get here.
